Justice
Justice
We offer trained staff to speak at local churches, community groups, youth groups and elsewhere, in order to bring the cause of people who are poor and homeless before the community. We speak to government in cooperation with local organizations (Alliance to End Homelessness, National Roundtable on Poverty and Homelessness, etc.) and call our governments to responsible action and justice for the poor. Mercy
Demonstrations of compassion and mercy are evident in all we do. It is often the case that the only ‘touch’ that people from the street community receive is unloving and even violent. We touch people with love through our outreach: haircuts, foot care, touch care (light back massage) and a warm handshake. These are hallmarks of our ministry. Read more about Mercy.
Advocacy
OIM engages in and provides training in advocacy issues: from telephoning for our street friends (housing, employment, etc.) to letter writing to different levels of government to bring about change. Read more about Advocacy.
