Justice
Justice: So large that it is hard to comprehend, and so small and easy that it can be done by a child.
It ranges in scope from our Supreme Court of Canada on Wellington Street (a fifteen minute walk from our office) to the equalized sharing of resources among our street friends under the Department of Defense bridge (about the same distance away).
As large as our government dispensing just and right decisions on policy affecting tens and hundreds of thousands of Canadians; or as small as ensuring fair weights on measures and distributions of food at the local food bank.
It’s not rocket science. Justice is doing what’s right; treating people fairly and equitably; dispensing judgments and decisions that are good and fair.
There’s not enough of it. Not when our outreach teams connects with people who cannot access social services, sleeping outside, trying to deal with the myriad of voices inside their heads telling them so very many things: and five or ten minutes away, some of the richest and most powerful people in our country live in luxury.
Watch this aspect of our website and ministry for suggestions how to let your voice be known.
We will keep you up to date on issues of Justice.
