What is Art and Soul?

Art and Soul is a fundraising event that allows OIM's Innercity Arts youth to showcase their talents. This fundraiser inspires the youth in our program to create art that conveys hope, healing, and transformation.

On June 20, 2025, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, join us at the Ottawa Art Gallery as we bid on art and spend the evening together. Throughout the evening, mingle with OIM staff, Innercity Arts volunteers, and Innercity Arts youth.

WHY ARE WE HOSTING THIS EVENT?

Your presence means so much to our Innercity Arts youth, who are working hard to create art that you'll want to take home.

This event will help us continue to fulfill our mission and encourage at-risk and street-involved youth to exercise their creativity and promote their self-esteem. By attending, you're helping OIM and the Innercity Arts program in four key ways:

  • Supporting street-engaged youth: You're not just buying art; you're supporting the youth who frequent our Innercity Arts program. Your contribution helps them feel that their situation can change, allows them to express themselves freely, builds their confidence, and develops valuable skills.

  • Creating positive change: Through this fundraiser, you're helping us provide youth access to a food bank and opportunities to fellowship with one another and participate in activities to keep them off the streets.

  • Building a stronger community: You're helping us make a more inclusive community where everyone feels welcomed and safe. Our building continues to be a beacon of hope to many, including youth, lending them a helping hand when they need it most.

  • Direct Impact: Money raised goes directly toward our programs, ensuring that your contribution makes a real and lasting difference.

What's the event highlight?

Our featured event for the evening is our silent auction. The bidding will be on a trusted virtual auction site called AuctionSnap, where you can place bids on art, view items, and purchase items using a "buy it now" option. Credit card fees will be applied at checkout.

The auction is important to the youth because it affirms their talents, promotes their self-esteem, helps develop social skills, and, what may be most important to them, provides them with financial rewards for work well done.

Right now, our youth and young adults are hard at work creating stunning art pieces. For our artists, it's making something they can be proud of and that someone will want to buy. This auction is a confidence boost for some to jump-start their careers. Some youth who have moved on from our program have begun their art careers by creating commissioned pieces.
