Winter Survival Campaign

Many of our friends on the street live with no alternatives. No family. No support. Nowhere to go. Canadian Winters can be harsh and unforgiving. Hypothermia and frostbite are a real and serious threat. We’re getting ready to fill the great needs that come with that weather – winter coats and boots, sleeping bags, blankets, mitts, socks, and other warm items.  You can help our friends on the street survive the freezing temperatures with a gift of money or gently used clothing … it will mean all the difference. Your generosity brings warmth and hope into their lives and shows that the people of Ottawa genuinely care.

Survival kits. This year we really need your help! Please give a gift. Winter Street Survival Kit Contents. $200 = complete kit. $85 = 1 winter sleeping bag. $65 = food and other outreach supplies. $50 = underwear, socks, and other personal items. Coats... This year, we really need donations of coats and boots. This fall, we're excited to indroduce our "OIM Winter Wear Ministry" when, once a week, our friends can pick up a gently used coat, hat, mitts, scarf, and boots in-house. This will give us an extra opportunity to speak with them one-on-one and learn more about their story. We covet your prayers for every interaction. This is over and above supplies given out daily by our OIM outreach teams. Please pray that God will provide the coats, etc. that we need in order to do this. For drop off times, call 613-237-6031.
