Due to the COVID-19 restrictions it has been a challenge to be able to host our veterans at the Wednesday drop-in. We have been sending a lunch home with each veteran that has attended over the last few months. However, with the province lifting some of the restrictions we were able to have our first hot meal last Wednesday!!
This week those that attended IVOS enjoyed a BBQ meal where we served burgers and sausages. After we had a great time of fellowship with Ken MacLaren (Executive Director of OIM) dropping in to say hi.
Since joining the OIM team to be a part of IVOS I have personally been able to help get a homeless veteran into the Veterans House. It was very encouraging to see the big change this made in their life and motivates me to continue to help other veterans that come into our program.
