There is something magical about the Christmas season. In the air, there's anticipation, expectation, and joy leading up to December 25th. We look forward to spending time with family and friends, preparing special meals, baking Christmas goodies, shopping, wrapping and giving gifts. For some, the to-do lists can become overwhelming and exhausting, especially when the expectation is perfection.
As followers of Christ, we focus our efforts on the true meaning of this time of year: "Jesus is the reason for the season." We remember that God humbled himself and came to earth as a tiny, helpless human baby. King Jesus was born in an animal enclosure, in a food trough. He came to earth to be born and to die for our sins. There's the magic, and by magic, I mean miracle.
This Christmas, may we all reflect with child-like wonder on the humble and miraculous virgin birth of our dear Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas, everyone!
