I recently switched from doing Door Outreach to helping Sarah & Joanne with the sorting of the weekly Food Bank order. Although I no longer interact with our clients face-to-face I know keeping our shelves well stocked for Street & Door Outreach is a priority in order to serve those in need.
In addition to sorting the Food Bank order, at this time of year there are many donations that arrive at OIM that need to be processed. It is wonderful to see the many schools, churches, businesses, and individual donors who help us meet our clients’ needs with all their donated goods.
For example, Redeemer Christian High School jumped into the Winter Street Survival Kit Campaign at their school. The students entered the season of giving by filling many backpacks with toiletries, socks, and various food supplies. They also collected sleeping bags, gift cards, and cash donations.
Thank you to the many generous individuals, churches, schools, and businesses that partner with us to help those on the street have a merrier Christmas.
