You can hear Mavis tell her story on Family Radio CHRI 99.1 FM, each week day just after station identification at 8 am and 5 pm.
Parts of her story are messy, and always real, as is the wonderful lady who will find a special place in your heart.
Hi, I’m Mavis from the Innercity Arts program with OIM.
Thanks so much for listening to my story and for being interested in my life. Without the help of OIM and the Innercity Arts program, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I would still be that quiet, shy girl, just trying to get by in life.
OIM has helped me get up on my own two feet and face the future unafraid! I have gained so much confidence. I am more outgoing, and ‘out there’ instead of being in my own little bubble.
